Voiceflex Facilitates Easy Voice Calling With Over-The-Top Services
February 2023 - More applications are moving online, and voice is no exception. In the B2B world, Microsoft Teams, Google, Zoom, etc., are the preferred option for meetings and calls, and the common theme is that the conversations are all online. In addition, many international personal calls are conducted over WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, or other online applications.
Voiceflex has seen a decline in international traffic over the last three years. Three years ago, international traffic accounted for 30% of calls; now, it makes up just 5% of its calls - more and more calls are online. This downhill trend is expected to continue. We are not going to see a revert to calls over the PSTN services. Instead, we must embrace new applications aiding customers to enable calling online, commonly known as over-the-top services.
Voiceflex has developed several in-house applications to allow customers to receive calls online. The latest addition to its portfolio is Scan to Call, a QR code enabling customers to scan the code, which will either dial online or a specific number hidden within the QR code.
Scan to Call is an additional service to Click to Call and Click to Call Me, which Voiceflex launched four years ago. All are enabled over Voiceflex trunks or hosted application flow.
Paul Taylor, Chief Commercial Officer commented, “SIP providers are not all the same, we provide real value add to our SIP services. Scan to Call is a major feature of our SIP Trunks and I don’t know of any other SIP trunk provider who can offer WebRTC connectivity like we can. As we’re using our devices more and more to make telephone calls this application supports the Channel to engage and open more doors.”
